Here's a few random tidbits I'd like to put out there:

The second HSO attendance check-in is happening now, and is due by June 25, 11:59 PM EDT! I'd like everyone to do the thing we did last time- just PM or Skype me telling me you're here.
I would like to have a team Skype meeting on Thursday at 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central. If anyone can't make it at this time, please let me know ASAP and we can work something out. The purpose of this meeting would be to determine the specifics of our collab round fill. Sometime between now and then, I'll make a members-only post showing what work I've done on it so far so we can start getting everyone to contribute. Remember, don't mention publicly what it is- we want to keep it a surprise!
Finally, to everyone who hasn't already, I'd like to encourage you to post some prompts for Bonus Round 1! All you have to do is specify two genres and a ship (regardless of whether or not the ship has a team). I know not everyone has the time to do a fully-fledged fill, but this way, you still have the opportunity to contribute, and we can earn some easy points. Also, we're well within reach of our max of 20 (we can still post more prompts then that, just not earn points for them), meaning if we hit that mark, all we have to worry about in the "points-race" is doing fills. We've got a little over 4 days left!

Hi everyone!

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for making such great fills for BR0. I think we started off the compo with a bang! I've updated the list of fills we made (didn't bother to update the status of other teams, though), as well as the gallery of gifts given to us as of the end of the round- be sure to check them out! Sorry for not being more active on Skype- it's been a busy week for me, too. However, I'm free pretty much all this week, which brings me to the subject of this post.

The prompts for Round 1 and the Collab Round have been released! When we discuss what we're going to do for these rounds, I'd like everyone to be present. I figure the best way to do it is through Skype, so everyone can freely bounce ideas off each other and we can get a good momentum of inspiration going. So, when is everyone busy during the next week? I'd like to schedule a Skype meeting when everyone's free, so please reply, PM, or message me through Skype with what times are good for you. My goal is to have a meeting by the end of Friday.

So, pretty much everyone has expressed in a Skype group chat, and I think it's an excellent idea! I just sent out conversation invites to the people who provided their Skype usernames- at least, I hope this is how it works. It's been a while since I've used Skype, and I'm uncomfortable with how they use the word "conversation" to mean a group chat that (hopefully) is supposed to persist when nobody's in it.

But anyway, I don't have some of your Skype usernames, so if you could reply with them or PM them to me, that would be great.

Hey, everyone! Bonus round 0's out, so it's time to get filling! I was going to suggest a goal of providing fills for ALL THE TEAMS, but after compiling the below list, I'm not so sure that's gonna happen. As of right now, there's 197 teams, including ours! (119 confirmed, 78 unconfirmed)

However, we can still make the most of this. This round is an excellent opportunity for some inter-team diplomacy, both for just generally spreading love around (which is ALWAYS a good thing), and for... er... aiding the democratic process, if you catch my drift. I was trying to think of how we could adopt a strategy this round, but nah. There's enough benefit from choosing any of the teams, and this round's meant for a fun warmup, anyway (well, the entire competition's just for fun, but especially this round). So, just do whatever ships are your favorites! I would like us to get the full 75 points for this round, but we've got over a week to do it, and if we all pitch in, we could accomplish it in less than 2 fills per person!

Below, I've got a list of all the teams as they are currently listed in the team roster (there appear to be a few in the wrong place, but they probably just haven't been moved yet). I will make no attempt to update this list for the existence/number of members of any given team (unless you tell me about a specific team), so before you do a fill, make sure the team still actually exists on the official roster. My list is here more to give us a general idea of the state of each team, and to present them all in a more compact, easier-to-read format.

If you're planning to work on a fill for a given team, please leave a comment on this post to let me know. That way, if you want to collaborate with someone else, or if you want to do a team that you know none of us are working on (to spread the joy to as many different teams as possible), you can! Also, I'll try to keep watch on the fills thread, recording what teams have been given fills already, so if you want to spread some love to a team that hasn't gotten any at all, you can do that too.

Why'd they even call this a "flight", anyway?

So, first of all, let me express my gratitude that 6 people are finally aboard, so we can all set sail! Alongside my lovely vice-palhoncho, macca44552, I'm here to make sure we all have a grand ol' time, and leave all the other, saner ships floundering in our wake!

I think our first order of business should be getting to know each other. So, I'd like to ask everybody to do the following:

Introduce yourself!
Answer those four questions the mods said we should ask each other (and I tend to agree we should):
- Preferred pronouns
- Time zone
- Preferred method of contact/communication
- Media that you work with

I'll start.

Like I said before, I'm Gjarble. I'm a college student studying to be a video game designer. I've been reading MSPA since about halfway through Problem Sleuth, though I didn't join the fandom outright until right after [S] Make her pay. Since then, I've done my fair share of HS-themed image manips, and cosplayed Hella Jeff, Davesprite, and Karkat. HS is also, like for many other fans, the thing that actually made shipping interesting for me. I don't have an OTP per se, but the huge cast (and of course, the quadrants) have been a lot of fun to explore to their darkest depths. I joined Bro ♥ Grandpa because the idea is freakin' hilarious, but at the same time it's an extension of the very sincere, very canon Dirk ♥ Jake, which macca and I both ship. Due to my inexperience with shipping, this'll be my first time doing rom-art of any kind, but HSO looks to be a lot of fun!

Time zone: Eastern U.S. - Boston (currently EDT [UTC -4 hours])
Preferred method of contact: I'd recommend the comm, just so everything's in one place. If you wish to contact me privately or don't think the matter is large enough to make a new comm entry for, just send me a PM.
Media that I work with:
- I am first and foremost a game designer/programmer. I work with Flash by far the most, but I'm also experienced in JavaScript and a bunch of other assorted stuff. I doubt this'll be very useful during the main round for time reasons (if you have a reasonably simplistic idea for an interactive fill, I'll gladly be proven wrong), but it definitely puts interactive stuff on the table for the collaborative round. Oh man, do I have ideas. We'll talk about that once everyone's settled into the comm.
- Doctorin'! I've done a lot of Photoshop stuff, so if you need an existing HS panel manipulated to be something else, or just want someone to clean up the linework on your drawing, I'm your guy. I also at least like to think I'm okay at editing audio and video to similar ends.
- Music. I was trained as a drummer for the bulk of my childhood (don't have access to decent live equipment, though), and I know just enough music theory to write some half-decent music. I can put together something decent-sounding using GarageBand and Audacity, but I also have Famitracker- a chiptune maker that performs 100% to the specifications of the NES.
- If all else fails (that is, if I can't use any of the above skills for a prompt), I probably don't suck at writing.
